Hello Volunteers,
We will be doing Giant Reed (Arundo donax)
removal work in Sabino Canyon Recreation Area on the first Sunday of every
month through March 7, 2010. Please mark your
calendars.
This seasonŐs kick-off is Sunday, Oct. 4. Parking
for Giant Reed
removal volunteers is free. Drive through on the bypass lane and park. You will
receive a volunteerŐs parking pass to place in your
windshield at the registration table.
Please arrive at the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center
ramada by 7:45 a.m. Wear sturdy shoes or boots, a long-sleeve shirt and long
pants to protect your arms and legs, a hat and sunglasses or safety glasses. Tools will be provided, bring work gloves if you have them. We will walk to the work
site and cut Arundo canes and carry bundles and bags to pick-up points until
noon.
